LiveSupportAP - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

LiveSupportAP is simple application, which you can setup here and use free. It allows you to exchange messages with recipients of your e-mail or with visitors to your web page.
The main difference is that your friends or visitors can chat with you without having to download or install this LiveSupportAP or any other program.

How does it works

When someone click on the link or button to contact you the ring will sound, LiveSupportAP will popup and name of visitor will be shown. Also you can see text sent by visitor in status area. If you decide to answer - click button "Accept new visitor".
Then you can send a text, an image, play a sound on visitor's computer, or open a web page in new window on visitor's computer. These image file, sound file or html file may be sent from your computer or from the Internet.

When you send file from the Internet you have to type in path to the file on the Internet beginning with http:// (E.g. This path is saved in the list and when you want send it again you don't have to retype the path.

If there is no connected visitor this program maintain minimum Internet activity (ping every 1 min) so your computer will not go to standby mode and will not be disconnected from the Internet due to inactivity. To stop this activity - click on "Do not disturb" checkbox and visitors will not see "Chat access button" on web page.

How to handle multiple visitors

It is possible that second visitor requests connection while you are chatting with 1st visitor. In this case you will see visual alert, hear ring and see text, sent by 2nd visitor. You can continue talking to 1st visitor or you can choose "Accept second visitor" (1st visitor will be disconnected).
It you are talking to 1st visitor, 2nd visitor is waiting and 3rd visitor came to your web page - 3rd visitor will not see "Chat access button" and will not be able to chat.
To handle more than 2 visitors simultaneously (e.g. 10 visitors) you must register block of IDs (e.g.10 IDs) and install LiveSupportAP on (10) computers with these IDs. One of these IDs will be Master ID which you will add to code on your web page and install on Master Computer. Master Computer is computer which will receive requests from all visitors and redirect them to another computer which is not busy. Computer is considered being busy if operator is talking to visitor or when operator check "Do not disturb" or LiveSupportAP is not running. After end of conversation operator must wait until visitor disconnects or click button "Disconnect visitor". If Master Computer is not online visitors to your web page will not see "Chat access button" and will not be able to chat with any Operator.

How to fit LiveSupportAP into a 150 pixel column

You may modify code to make it fit into different area. Just make sure our banner is present on the page.

Can I use popup window to invite visitor to chat

Many visitors doesn't like popups so we do not support popup invitations.
If you want attract more attention to your "Chat access box" your may modify how it looks like:
- go to
- enter texts you want to appear in "Chat access box" - YOU MAY USE HTML CODE AND JAVASCRIPT HERE - so this box will include image, show javascript prompt box (with invitation to chat), etc.

How can I modify code on my web page?

You may modify code for LiveSupportAP on your web page, but you must not change names for elements and delete elements. The best way to modify code - go to m_wizar4.htm and enter text for "Chat access box" (you may enter HTML code here). Then you press button "Generate code" and code will be generated and your "Chat access box" will be shown on the top of the page so you can see how it looks like.
Also we do not recommend to use "MS Front Page 3.0" since it modifies this code with no good reason - LiveSupportAP will not work when the code is incorrectly modified.

Can I use LiveSupportAP from 2 computers: home and work?

You have 2 options:
1) Use unregistered version and install LiveSupportAP at home and at work computers with different ID. Then add 2 different button for each ID on one web page. Eg. 1st button - for day time, 2nd button for evenings.

2) Use registered version of LiveSupportAP - install LiveSupportAP at home and at work with same ID and add one button only to web page. Visitors will be directed to LiveSupportAP which was launched last - so when you come home and launch LiveSupportAP at home computer all visitors will be directed to your home computer until you go to work and launch LiveSupportAP at work computer.
